Playwrite boasts being the longest standing exhibitor

Whilst Harrogate Christmas & Gift celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, very few exhibitors can boast attending the founding show in 1950. However, Playwrite Group (stand C17) can claim not only this,Playwrite but has attended every single show for 75 years.

Warren Cornelius, one of the directors of Harrogate Christmas & Gift, first attended the event himself as an exhibitor in 1967. However, his predecessor Syd Vening (who joined the company with his brother-in-law William (Con) Cornelius and took over the reins on Con's death in 1944), was one of the show's founders when it began its journey in Harrogate as International Toy Fair. The company, then known as WH Cornelius Ltd, changed to The Playwrite Group in 2001 in partnership with Richard Towse of Oppenheimer Ltd. Richard sold his interest in the company back to Cornelius Ltd after 15 years successful trading, and Playwrite Group is now run by Warren's sons James and Guy.

Playwrite Group is renowned in the industry for its great value pocket money toys, stocking fillers and Santa Grotto gifts and novelties. Be sure to drop by to meet the team on Stand C17 whilst you're at the show.
